How do you check it?
I’ve had my camera for a little over a year, and recently it seems like the battery power is very short.
It’s hard to see how long it lasts because it seems fine until I put it down for a day or so. Then when I turn it on, the battery is dead and must be charged.
So quite simply, is it possible to check battery status on the PowerShot cameras, and if so, how?

One Response to “Battery Life On A Canon Powershot Sd600 Or Any In The Same Line?”

  1. Bryan L says:

You can’t check the battery status, but the SD600′s battery – Canon’s NB-4L – is like any other lithium battery; you can only recharge it so many times before it starts having difficulty holding a charge. Having that happen after just a year is a little unusual, but not totally unheard of.
Your best solution would be just to replace the battery – you can either shell out $40-50+ for the Canon-branded NB-L4, or get a generic one for less than $20 in most places. If you go generic, look for batteries made by Lenmar, whose replacement batteries for other Canon cameras are top-notch.
