I’d like to know if it’s possible to use my Powershot A400 camera as a webcam and what software should I use to do it? I have searched google time and again, and I’ve seen just as many people saying it’s possible as people saying it’s not.
Can anybody help me here?

One Response to “Can A Canon Powershot A400 Be Used As A Webcam?”

  1. H.M. Peters says:

No, because Powershots are DSCs (Digital Still Cameras). This means that they are meant for snapshots, and though they often have movie modes built in, they can’t connect live to PCs. The closest you could get to using a Powershot as a webcam is to shoot a short movie clip of yourself and then post it on IM or whatever you want to use for your webcam. It cannot, however, connect to a computer and record your actions as they happen.
