I brought the Canon PowerShot C5 IS a year or so ago, I was wondering if I might be able to buy a better lens for my camera, nothing is wrong with the current len, but I want to upgrade my pictures and use a more expensive lens. I’ve looked online on bestbuy and I couldn’t find anything to answer my question.

You mean the Powershot S5 IS? Sorry, but it’s only a ‘super-zoom’ point & shoot camera with a very small sized image sensor, so you won’t be able to ‘upgrade’ your images.
You CAN buy a wide converter, Tele-converter and Close-up lens for it…however these will NOT improve the quality of your images. So, it would be a waste of time and money getting these.
If you want to improve your image quality, you’ll have to get a dSLR which allows you to interchange lenses (the better ones are not cheap). These types of camera have a large sized image sensor, so therefore have much better ISO capability than a point & shoot camera, as well as much better performance.
p.s. for the best image quality possible with your S5 IS (and the least amount of noise), try to always shoot at the lowest ISO of 80 (this is best for good outdoor lighting)…Also, to avoid using higher ISO’s, you should avoid shooting in low light.
    good luck…

Only fully adjustable cameras like the entry level Canon Rebels and other DSLR brands use interchangeable lenses. You have a point and shoot camera and its lens is permanently affixed to your camera
A more expensive lens will not make your photos better … only you have that power. And of course using some of the suggestions made on this linkhttp://photoinf.com/General/Robert_Berda…
