I purchased a Canon PowerShot A590IS 8MP camera and I absolutely love it! I was looking for something with camera stability, face detection and that took AA batteries. If I had one complaint it’s that it’s not the most compact. I’ve already uploaded some videos and it’s wonderful!
I highly recommend looking for a camera that takes AA batteries because that can be a big cost.
The Canon PowerShot A720 IS is an 8 megapixel camera with 6X optical zoom. It’s a fine camera. Has image stabilizer, and in addition to auto one can set shutter speed and aperture independently.
I have a 7.1 mega pixel one.
I love it- it takes amazing photos from far away and can still take extremely detailed ones super close. Mine also has face detect which works surprisingly well!
