I am going on a cruise and purchasing a digital camera for the purpose. I want to make sure it will do everything I want (I do plan on getting a separate camcorder for videos so am not concerned with that part of the camera).
As I have not purchased a camera for many years, I would like to have some opinions before I buy.

I have been looking at a lot of blogs about camera’s recently, and over all people have said pretty good things about the cybershot. It isn’t too expensive, and takes pretty good pictures. your best bet is to by a JVC mini cam. not only does it make videos but it also takes still shots. results of both are excellent. i would probably think twice before buying anything produced by sony. like many people i was a sony fanatic. i had purchased sony electronic everything. about three years ago i purchased a sony 57″ digital tv. just out of warranty the set malfunctioned. i can not get any service to repair the set because it cost more to repair than to buy a new set. i paid $2300 for it. i called sony for help and they told me there was nothing they could due to help me. doing research on the web i found out that sony knew about the problem but continued to sell like sets in the market. i also found out that sony is plagued with class action law suits for design mistakes in many of their products. there are some internal problems at sony that have caused the quality of their products to slip to the near bottom of the dependability list. is you do decide to get a sony anything, make sure you also purchase the extended warranty.
