I just bought a sony cybershot 7.2mp W80 from Bestbuy.com. I have a mac w/ osX. I finally found one of the movies I took by bringing quicktime. HOWEVER…the movie is playing VERY choppy. It skips over huge chunks of audio and video. The software that came with the camera says the “motion picture browser” is not compatible with Macintosh. What can I do?

Simple
Plug your Sony Cyber shot camera into your Mac with the i-Link cable it came with???* and open iMovie>create new project>select source>import footage.
*i-Link is the PC version of Firewire which all Macs use.
No other software is needed.

If it didn’t come with an i-Link cable you need to get one – or get a Firewire cable.
I just connect the camera or the memory stick card reader via USB and import the photos along with the videos to iPhoto. I have no problems when I double click on the videos in iPhoto to view them with Quicktime, and the videos are from 2 different Sony cameras.
Try updating Quicktime if you already haven’t.
