So, I just got a new Canon Powershot SD780 IS and it is GREAT! Except for one problem…I can’t seem to get rid of the little date in the corner! How do you do it?

the manual tells you to take it out of postcard mode
Gee, who would have ever thought to check in the manual !
Go get your User Guide and turn to page 62 to see how to turn OFF the Date Stamp and make sure you never use it again because it permanently ruins your images.
Then go to pages 69-70. It will show you how to change your resolution (recording pixels) and quality.
The best available resolution/quality is…Large (L) 4000 x 3000 and then Fine, so make sure you always shoot in this setting.
I have an SD800, and if its the same thing, go to ‘menu’, then scroll down to ‘date stamp’ and select ‘off’.
