I want to take pictures of my car in parking lots at night, and I cant figure out how to do it without the pictures being blurry. I know it has something to do with the aperture priority or the shutter speed, but i cant find the right setting. Any help?

your asking a lot from your a630 with low light shooting. you will definitely need a tripod or steady surface to rest the camera on…handheld is a blur every time. keep the zoom wide (aka no zoom) , shutter speed slow and apeture wide (aka f2.8) in manual mode or try one of the auto night or apeture priority modes.
You cannot handhold a camera steady enough without flash in very low light (due to the slower shutter speeds used) and that’s why your images are blurred.
An easy solution is to mount the camera on a tripod. Set your ISO to the lowest (80) to prevent or limit noise (by pressing the FUNC./SET button, select your ISO, then press the same button again). But, you cannot do this in Auto. You must first turn the mode dial to either P, Av, Tv or M.
You can turn the mode dial to P (program auto exposure). The camera will select the correct aperture and shutter speed. It’s much like auto, but you get to select your ISO etc.
Or you can select your Aperture by using Av (Aperture Priority) and the camera will set the correct shutter speed (which may be a few seconds or longer, depending on how wide open the aperture is and how much light there is).
You can also use Tv (shutter priority) where you set the shutter speed and the camera chooses the aperture.
Or, using M (manual) allows you to set your preferred shutter speed AND aperture.
You can change the ISO (when in shooting mode) in all of the four functions above.
Make sure the flash is turned off and set the delay timer to 2 or 10 seconds to prevent camera movement during the exposure.
Don’t ever use Auto…because it will automatically apply a high ISO which will only bring lots of noise to your images.
please read your User Guide…especially pages 43-46
good luck…
