I will be traveling soon and need to know what sort of adapter I need. I know the plugs are different but what about the voltage?

You don’t have to worry about voltages…you just need to buy a travel adaptor plug for all your electrical appliances when you travel to Australia.
Just plug your appliance into the converter plug and then plug it into the electrical outlet.
You can buy these converter plugs anywhere that electrical and travel goods & accessories are sold (including airports).
If you are from the U.S. you need to buy an adapter plug to suit US to Australia (US/AUS).
    It’s as simple as that.
    Have a great trip…

Just check the back of your charger, there should be a sticker with the accepted voltages on it. If it reads 100-240v then all you will need is an adaptor to change the plug.
I think you’ll find that you will be fine, as most ‘travel’ items (such as camera equipment) will automatically change between 100-240v these days.
The link below shows you what type of travel adaptor you will need for your trip.
    Have fun down under ;)
