Viewing the pictures is fine, but when I switch to camera mode there are a series of clicks and the screen is shaky and black…any help will do…leaving for vacation Friday and would like to get this working. I already replaced the batteries and deleted everything off the memory card, so it’s not that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The A75 is a very outdated model (released in 2004) and it sounds like the sensor or LCD screen has had it. You should either consider buying a new camera…or if you’re desperate (and the camera still takes shots), you could use the optical viewfinder to compose your shots rather than relying on the LCD.
But, if I were you, I would think about getting a new camera sometime soon. The benefits would of course be better image quality, features and performance.
