   My brother owns a Cybershot (the bit more pricey one) for 4 years now, and it’s still okay, aside from the burned flash. From what I have seen online, there are more Coolpix that’s having problem than the Sony. But which ever you choose, get an extended warranty. This type of camera (just about every brand) if you dropped it or bumped it hard, tend to go haywire. Buy it from reputable place like Circuit City, Bestbuy, or such places, you won’t have problem with extended warranties being honored.

   I personally own the Sony Cybershot with 8.1 megapixels, and I’m absolutely in love with it. It takes high quality pictures that put many other cameras to shame. My pictures always come out clear and clean and the files are large enough to do major editing without disturbance of quality. I’ve tested it along many other brand cameras and I’m still impressed that every picture taken with another camera looks a bit duller than the Sony. It brings out the color in everything making the overall picture look vibrant.
