I broke the LCD screen on my canon powershot sd400 digital elph. When I turn it on, it’s just a plain white screen with a purple splotch in the corner.
It can still take pictures and video and upload them to the computer, and it can play the videos that you take, but you can’t see anything that’s going on because the screen is white.
I wanted to repair it, but i dont know how much it would cost, or maybe replace the screen with a new one. Does anyone know anywhere i can buy the new part or how much it would be to fix at best buy/circuit city?

You should call or email Canon. If you take it to best buy or a repair center they’ll most likely get the replacement from Canon anyway but, it would hurt to try.

According to this post, it costs $165.http://reviews.cnet.com/Canon_PowerShot_…

With many microelectronic items like digital cameras, it’s often cheaper to buy a new one or downright impossible to fix something like that. That being said, your best bet is to call Best Buy or Circuit City and ask them if it can be fixed — hey, you never know. Be sure to get as much information as you can up-front because they may charge you a flat fee (anywhere from $20.00 to $100.00) just to look at it and tell you what’s wrong.

Yes, they are very expensive to repair. I understand you may find the screen on ebay for around $80. but then you have to do the replacement yourself or the repair will be over $160.
Sell it or put it in drawer and buy another or you can sell the parts on auction and help pay for a new one.
And remember to NOT DROP THE CAMERA
