   It comes with 2 AA alkaline batteries. These are just regular old flashlight batteries, and won’t last long in the camera. You should buy 4 NIHM rechargeable batteries and charger. These usually come packed together.
   I suggest Sanyo eneloop batteries. They come charged and hold a charge for a long time out of the camera. They seem to last a long time in the camera, too. And they can be charged up to 1000 times. By buying 4 batteries, you can carry the extra two in your camera case, so if the ones in the camera run down while you are out shooting, you will have extras to put in your camera.
