I have the camera sony cyber-shot dsc-f828 but im not sure if its a SLR can anyone help me?

    No it is not for this reason. SLR stands for single lens reflex. This means that when you look in the viewfinder, you see through the lens via a mirror that ‘reflexes’ out of the way when you shoot an image. The F828 doesn’t have the reflex mirror. What you see in the viewfinder is the image produced by the image sensor.
    Another thing that seperates an SLR from other cameras is the ability to interchange lenses. The F828 has a fixed lens.
