   that sounds like the red- eye reduction mode. turn it off. also sometimes in low light situations, it will do that in order to Auto focus. I don’t think you can adjust the number of times it blinks. Depends on the model and ambient lighting

   i personly have one and it did that when i first got it and you know where the little circle is near that just click on the length because when you have the time before it takes a picture if you have it for more then 3 seconds it will do that.
