It needs to be taken apart and cleaned with a solvent and the battery has to be checked to see if its damaged also.you need to take it to a repair shop in your area .If you would have used a air compresser and blew the water/moisture out of the camera and NOT put it in a hot car(that made it sweat more from the water/moisture that was still in the camera)It most likely would be working but I’ll bet you forgot to bring it with you that day. LOL

If you take the batteries out, then there is no way that you could ever get a shock.
Digital cameras, or electronics of any kind must be kept away from water…and frankly, I think you have permanently ruined your camera.
You might have to buy a new one…and if you do, NEVER take it near water. If you must insist on taking your camera to the beach or pool etc…then you would be wise to invest in a waterproof one. Olympus and some other brand make them.
    good luck…

I’d take out the batteries and the memory stick and let it sit for a day or two to dry out completely.

Unfortunately your camera is now a paperweight. Time to start looking for a replacement.
I know of 2 companies offering protective covers for cameras:
    cameraarmor.com
    bonicadive.com
Might be worth looking into if you’d like to get maximum use from your new camera and protect it.
