I personally was looking at the FinePixs5200 compared to the Powershot S2 IS? Any reason why youd pick one over the other? Also in the Powershot S3 IS upgrade that much better? Please explain why you pick what you pick. Thanks

I would choose the Canon without much hesitation, for the following reasons:
- Faster lens (allows a wider aperture, thus gathering more light) at wide angle: f/2.7 instead of f/3.2.
- Optical image stabilizer (the Fujifilm S5200 doesn’t have any -its AntiBlur function is NOT an actual image stabilizer-).
- Longer zoom (slightly more wide angle and tele).
- Wider range of shutter speeds.
- Uses the more convenient SD memory card format.
- Better video recording capabilities (stabilized movie recording, stereo audio, etc.).
About the only S5200′s obvious advantage is its manual zooming/focusing ring elements. Its RAW format availability might be considered another advantage, but the Canon Sx IS ‘s RAW mode can also be enabled with the third-party CHDK firmware.
As for the S3 IS, it’s not much of an improvement, but the S5 IS does have several interesting advantages: hotshoe for external flash, face detection, larger LCD screen and with more resolution, SDHC memory card support (higher card capacities than 2 Gb.), etc. Whether those are useful upgrades to you, you know better than anyone else.
