I want to buy a new digital camera . My parents have one similar to the Sony Cybershot DSC-H1 and I want something that size and similar to that but a newer version if possible. I have looked at the H5 and H2 but I dont think they have all the things I want on them.
I am looking for a camera with good Macro, minimum of 7.2 megapixels, good zoom (Min 12X Optical Zoom), lots of different settings/ shooting modes – manual, twilight, landscape….. and high speed shutter. Also built in flash but i think most of them have that. Also a 2-3 inch LCD monitor. Maybe manual and auto focus if these cameras do manual focus, and one that can also record video. I wouls also like it to be a maximum of 400 pounds.
Can anyone reccomend a good camera that has all or most of these? Please give the actual model number (ex. DSC H5…) and a link to a review or details of the camera

Since you already checked out my camera and others I can’t help. I do love my H-2. Have you checked out Canon PowerShot S2 IS, or S3 IS? Just a thought.
I have a DSC – W50 which is only a 6 mega pixel camera, but has all the features you are talking of – and more! I can film MPEGS in surprising clarity as well and have a spare 1 Gig card in it, so can enjoy myself for days before having to download.
Only problem – It is so small that I have had to attach it to it’s case by the strap so that I do not loose it!
Good luck with the search.
i have a DSCS500, it;s only 6 pixels.
the reason i’m answering your question is because it has been a nightmare trying to contact sony through their website, or by phone when i need help.
by the camera you want, but if you buy a sony, expect them to SUCK when it comes to service and customer support.
