You should click on that pencil icon and then “Add Details” to your question.
Do you want to do any photo enlargement or will you be satisfied sticking to 4×6 or smaller? This makes a huge difference in our recommendations.
You can use ANY brand of printer with your camera, as long as you do the image processing in the computer or as long as your camera is PictBridge compatible. In fact, it may not even have to be PictBridge compatible.
Tell us your plans as far as how large you want to make your prints.

Beaux’s answer was right on. I have an Epson photo printer with 6 cartridges and the prints it makes are awesome.

Justin, The price per photo when printing at home is probably not worth it. You have to first purchase the printer, then paper, then ink. I was looking into getting a home photo printer and after doing the math, realized the price per photo would be considerably less if I just went to one of them photo kiosks that you find in food stores and stuff.

All pessimism aside, let’s concentrate on the positive.
It makes sense that the best printer for any camera is the one made by the same company… Thus a Canon camera is most likely compatible with a Canon printer.
Next is what is it you need? Just copies of pics to keep around the house or one that is for sale and must be of high quality.
Around the house you get an inexpensive Canon bublejet 3 color plus black. If it’s for sale you may want to farm it out… OR invest in a better printer.
Instant gratification is another issue… definitely buy a printer to suit your needs…
Remember the more color cartridges you need… the better the quality…. and you must use quality paper all the time… if contains less lint and will keep your printer cleaner longer…
If you want a good shot turned into a masterpiece… promote it on Answers and someone will enhance it for you… maybe even me if I see it… I am on here often.
