for a point and shoot, you get a lot of manual control over your pictures. they have a way to adjust aperture and shutter speed on it so you can get the picture you want. of course its not the exact same thing as an SLR but its way better than any of the smaller 3x optical zoom cameras out there.
the flash is completely manual so you flip it up when you want to use it or just leave it down if the picture doesn’t need the auto flash going off in the middle of the day. compared to the Nikon L100 its smaller, only uses 2 AA batteries instead of 4, and has a much better lens. Canon cameras are AMAZING at macro. you can pretty much focus on something touching the lens.
only downside i see is that it does use AA batteries instead of lithium. but that’s all personal preference. i prefer lithium because they last forever and recharge easy. however if you are out and about and your battery dies, AA’s can be replaced ANYWHERE (gas station, vacation spot, foreign countries, etc..). For its range and similar cameras i think it is a great choice!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
