   Powershot is a Canon camera series intended for non professional users. Digital Elph is a sub category under Canon Powershot series. Other sub categories are A series and E Series. Digital Elph series are less complex point and shoot type cameras which can be identified by SD prefix in their model number. They are more expensive and efficient too. But most of them lack manual controls.
