   I have the Canon powershot, it really depends what you want it for, I also have an SLR but bought this to grab and take no nonsense pictures of our baby, the video function is also very good.The idiot fuction is quick to use. Easier than getting the SLR out of its case, this can be kept in a draw for easy access. It gets top reviews and can take regular AA battieries or rechargables. Got mine for $109 at JR.com.Great camera
