The kodak is an easyshare MD853 at 89.00.
The sony is a powershot DSC-S700 for 99.00. the powershot comes with a epson photo printer. What I would like to know is experience with each. Picture quality, ease of use, and battery life would be great. Also i believe the kodak comes with a rechargable battery, but i dont know about the sony. So if you know, that would also be great.
Thank you

They both are of good quality, but I’d take the Sony- I prefer the brand, and EPSON is AMAZING and super expensive, so if it comes with a free printer— totally the Sony!!! After all, it only costs $10 more.

I don’t know about that particular easyshare model. However, I have a Kodak v550 and totally love it.
It’s a bit on the pricey side. However, with a 2GB card, in addition to a huge number of high quality pictures I can take around 20 minutes of full 640×480 video that is as good a quality as my old VHSC camera.

In the world of digital cameras, no picture is going to be that good at a price of a 100 dollars. My advice would be to save your money, and buy a cannon. Cannons are all around (in my eyes) the best digital camera you can get. They last long, and have a great picture. Most cannons dont have mega-pixtels under 3 so you are sure to always get a good picture. And most Cannons come with an In-wall charager, so you dont have to work with batteries. But if you are going to get one of theses two (which i dont recomend) I would rather work with the sony powershot. It is a very simple point and shoot, that is extremely easy to use. the picture might not be that great, but if you have a Photoshop of some sort on your computer, you should be great.
    Hope this helps!

since kodak invented digital cameras, they dont care about their quality they just receive the loyalty from other companies for their patent, sony cyber shot is excellent i have one and it takes very very good pictures

First you have to know what you want to do with your camera. Are you taking photos when you’re out with friends? Are you taking the camera with you everywhere and where will you put it? Size matters for your personal preference. Usually the smaller and higher quality, the more costly the camera will be. I usually carry my camera in my jeans pocket and I keep it in a case when it is not. Also my camera is very slender and fits comfortably. Find a camera that works for you.
To answer some of your criteria, I would recommend the Sony over ther Kodak in digial picture quality. Sony has a special lens system that gives you a higher quality of pictures. I prefer the Cybershots easy ability to take pictures. Also, both batteries are rechargable, however, I have enjoyed much more picture taking time with flash with the Sony.
Another aspect you need to consider is: what you do after you take your pictures? Do you upload your pictures to online websites or print photos for albums? I am never satisfied with printing my own pictures at home. I don’t like the quality and the upkeep of printer materials and picture paper. You can get any of your pictures printed at a low cost at photo centers in your area. Also at these centers you can edit and add pieces to your picture. All you have to do is take the memory of your camera to the photo center if you want prints.
There is many aspects to consider but I am sure that you will find a camera that you are comfortable with.

if you ever want to do editing of your videos, and don’t have a mac, get the sony camera. the file output of kodak is only quicktime and it’s very hard to edit that even with a program that says it will edit quicktime (.mov files). I know cuz i got a kodak, then came to need to transfer the files to .wmv format and got stuck – the program i bought had errors only on the .mov files and i never got it to transfer my files. errgh. maybe it’s different on a mac since quicktime is made by apple.
