I would say go with Canon. they are a tried and true company. The sensor in Canons are better so a 10mp will produce a better image than Kodaks 14mp (and realistically no-one needs 14mp) and Canon are the only one to have OPtical Image Stabiliser (antishake) which is a spirit level in the lens that shifts the sensor the opposite way to which your hand is shaking when the picture is taken to avoid blur (so technically the sensor is still when image is taken) Kodak just use software to enhance and remove blur.
