Even with the the optical image stabilization and the steady-shot and all that stuff it still comes out blurry and I really cannot figure out which setting to put it on to get it right!

    Is your hand shaking when you’re taking the picture? Even a little bit? What’s the noted shutter speed for these pictures? Anything under 1/60 of a second will have the possibility of motion blur, even with IS since many IS systems aren’t that great.
    If you can post the EXIF information and a picture I might be able to help further.

    try making sure you’re pushing the shutter halfway down and holding it there to allow the camera to perform auto focus (once its completed you’ll see a green flashing light of some sort or hear a beep), once you’ve done that, continue pushing it all the way down to actually snap the photo.
